Mojito

Mojitos are a traditional Cuban drink with white rum, sugar, lime juice, soda water, and mint. Here’s a more traditional recipe by Alex Garcia, on Food Network.

How will this raspberry mojito make your life easier?

Plain water gets boring pretty quick, that’s why I like to add simple flavors to my water to stay hydrated and enjoy something tasty. This anything-but-boring raspberry mocktail with lime and mint is a great way to enjoy water in the summer.

Start making your raspberry mocktail by muddling a small handful of each: mint leaves and fresh raspberries in serving glass.

Pour sparkling water, lime juice, and raspberry syrup into glass. Sprinkle a pinch of salt over. Mix. Garnish your raspberry mocktail with fresh mint leaves and raspberries, if desired.

Add salt? Yes, it brings out the tanginess of the lime and brings out all the flavors. Trust me, it’s necessary in this raspberry mocktail.

Substitutions/Tips

  • You can substitute the raspberries and raspberry syrup with any fruit/syrup. It’d be good with blueberry, mango, pineapple, or other slightly tangy-tangy fruit.
  • If you don’t have fruit syrup, just add 2-3x the fruit to it, and muddle it all. The syrup adds a lot of raspberry/fruit flavor, so you’ll need to substitute with enough flavor.
  • Substitute the sparkling water with flavored sparkling water, club soda, or even Fresca or citrus pop.
  • Other great add-ins: white rum.
