Lose Fat Fast – Replace Bad Habits With Good Habits
In order to lose fat fast and maintain a healthy weight that will last for years to come only you will need to realize the importance of finding enjoyable alternatives for replacing bad habits with good habits. Everyone hates the word diet and it does not sound like something that can be followed long term. Finding enjoyable alternatives on the other hand is making a lifestyle change that can be practiced long term.
The first of course is fried food. Fried food and a weight loss program do not go hand in hand. America has become a fast food nation and it is no surprise that obesity, diabetes and other blood sugar problems are on the rise.
Once you realize all the grease you’re eating especially trans fats that are very unhealthy or what goes into the meat and vegetables used, it will give you pause and inspire you to adopt a healthier lifestyle. It is only your body and life after all.
These unhealthy fats affect your heart in addition to being deposited in your posterior, thighs, belly fat and all other areas of your body.
There are some excellent documentaries on this such as Food, Inc. and Supersize me. I encourage you to watch these if you need extra motivation to make the change that you need to make today!
Take a hard look today at what you are eating and make an effort to change your bad habits by finding alternatives which you actually like and can incorporate for the rest of your life. The best way to do this is to have a food journal. For about two weeks, document every meal or snack that you consume and analyze what you are eating.
Another bad habit is to starve yourself or skip meals in an effort to lose weight or burn fat. Do not do this because when you do, your body goes into a starvation mode and holds onto food.
This also slows your metabolism and less calories per day will be burned. In order to lose weight, more calories need to be burned every day. A way to boost metabolism is to eat several meals a day and not starve yourself.
Here are some good habits that you can adopt today;
1. Have a smoothie or a protein shake in place of pancakes or waffles for breakfast.
2. Eat egg whites with tomatoes and peppers instead of a regular bacon and cheese omelet.
3. Substitute soy milk for whole milk.
4. Instead of using mayonnaise on your sandwich, use honey mustard.
5. Drink at least eight glasses of water per day instead of soda or juice. Diet sodas are also not ideal since the artificial sweeteners in the drinks are not identifiable by the body which does not know how to break down these artificial sugars.
6. Use whole wheat bread instead of white. Add more whole grains to your food.
7. Substitute white rice, pasta with brown rice or brown pasta.
8. Reduce or eliminate fried foods in their entirety. Consider baking or broiling instead of frying.
9. Eliminate trans fats from your diet. Read food labels to ensure that they do not contain any trans fats. Add more monounsaturated fats and polyunsaturated fats which are the good fats into your diet. These good fats are found in fish, avocado, olive and canola oil, flaxseeds, peanut butter, nuts, seeds, etc.
By making these small changes, you will become a slimmer and healthier you in no time at all. Your metabolism will increase which will lead to more calories and fat being burned per day.
